Bakersfield College - This is a great two-year college that will help you design and plan a future life for yourself. I, Terri, have personally attended Bakersfield College and had nothing but a great experience. Not only do you get teachers who are not afraid to excercise your brain, but the students are very outgoing and the ages range from 17-35.

Pyrenees French Bakery - The bakery, which began in 1887, was originally called Kern City French Bakery, and got its start under the proprietorship of Marius M. Espitallier. After the fire of mid-1898, Espitallier built again constructing this time a brick building which housed a curious combination of bakery and saloon. At the time, good French bread sold for six cents a loaf.
